Who is Patrick?

I was born and raised in Granby in the province of Quebec. I worked in the western part of the country for nearly a decade, including two years on the oil sands projects in northern Alberta as a buyer. I returned to Quebec for good in October 2009.

How would you describe yourself in one word?

Encyclopedia. I want to know everything, and my brain records everything I read, hear, or see. I never forget anything. You never know when it might be useful.

What is your position at Ben-Mor, and what are your duties?

As a supply planner, I handle the planning of the purchase of stainless steel cables, high-performance cables, products in the G80/G100 categories, and YOKE imports, as well as materials for sling manufacturing locally. Creating products, negotiating prices, and overseeing transfers are also part of my duties.

What do you like the most about working at Ben-Mor?

In the past, I had a work cycle of about 5 years. At the end of that time, I felt like I had done everything there was to do, and I was looking for new challenges. The phenomenal growth of the company at Ben-Mor means it is constantly changing, and new challenges keep presenting themselves to me. The entire team is moving in the same direction, and it's rewarding.

How long have you been working at Ben-Mor?

I have been working at Ben-Mor since November 2009. In one of my previous jobs, I used to buy from Ben-Mor, and when I saw the job offer, I decided to give it a try!

What are your favourite hobbies?

My favorite hobby is undoubtedly reading. I devour at least one book a week. I reread The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, Foundation by Asimov, and Dune by Herbert once a year. I have also been playing bass since the mid-'80s, and nothing relieves stress better than playing along with Iron Maiden, Megadeth, or Metallica on the bass.

Do you have any hidden talent?

I have been a member of a band that played in bars. My brother-in-law and I also created missions for a computer game that was published on a CD accompanying a magazine in 1999.
